The $2.9 million Recycling Victoria Innovation Fund supports collaborative projects between:
to identify opportunities, apply and scale-up circular economy business models and practices. The projects may also include government or local government organisations or other not-for-profit organisations including community groups/associations.
These grants are funded through the Recycling Victoria policy.

Optimise and scale up a green manufacturing process to convert seafood waste into nutritional products (such as omega-3 nutritional oils) fit for human consumption.

Demonstrating Whole Crop Purchasing by securing a local supply of produce for social procurement
Project partners: Farmer Incubator, Social Traders
Converting pea pollard into new food innovations and establishing a process to upcycle surplus food products (that are traditionally diverted as animal feed).

The Victoria Circular Activator (VCA) will provide a physical circular economy hub and catalysing activities including research, a business data platform, frameworks to support business collaboration, four business-focused capability-building programs and innovation showcases.

Open Sauce is an open innovation project to develop circular retail products from by-products of produce from a network of food social enterprises.
Project partners: Melbourne Farmers Markets, The Corner Store Network, Cultivating Community and Make Studios
Deploying a pilot facility to process waste brewers spent grain into a speciality flour suitable for human consumption.
Project partners: Grainstone and a network of brewers, food manufacturers and bakeries.
Feasibility study to valorise stone fruit waste (e.g. peaches, avocados, plums, prunes)
