Description

The objective of this project was to explore opportunities for implementing a circular economy approach within a mixed-use precinct. The collaboration between Coreo and Dexus aimed to enhance awareness of the circular economy and demonstrate its value to businesses in Victoria. Specifically, the project focused on understanding, measuring, and mapping the flow of materials within complex corporate and retail precincts, with the goal of improving circularity in these material flows.

Through active engagement, education, and stakeholder involvement, this project gained significant insights that are included in this report. The project specifically developed a roadmap for the Queen Victoria shopping centre (QV), using it as a case study to illustrate the transition to a circular economy within a complex mixed-use retail precinct.

This report outlines the methodology employed for implementing circular economy principles in such a context. It serves as a valuable resource for understanding how a complex mixed-use precinct like QV can successfully transition to a circular economy model.
