ACU Co-Lab Circular Economy Incubator Series 2023
The Circular Economy Incubator Series is an 8-week, in-depth learning program designed to educate future changemakers about the practical components of the circular economy.
In this series, brought to you in partnership with StartSomeGood, industry experts will walk you through the key components of building a circular economy-focused business.
And you'll be able to put your new skills straight to work by crafting a video pitch for the Circular Economy Award - your chance to win $10,000.
The Circular Economy Incubator Series is free to attend and open to university students, staff and the broader community. Topics are delivered online in an interactive format.
The circular economy is about changing the way we produce, assemble, sell and use products to minimise waste and to reduce our environmental impact.

Sustainable Modalities – presented by Collective Futures
We have obligations to ensure we engage with processes of restoration for a renewed relationship with the planet and each other. As we continue to make design decisions that minimise waste through circular economies, we are also focused on the social health of communities and their longevity through equity and inclusion. Join us in a conversation with Alberto Kritzler Ring, Harvard Loeb fellow, and the Co-Founder of Reurbano - Mexico City; Jocelyn Chiew, an Architect, Landscape Architect and Urban Designer; and Kelvin Mureithi, a seasoned Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) Engineer and an RMIT University alumnus.

Visual Thinking for Sustainability Day 1
In this workshop, learn how to use drawing to simplify and communicate sustainability concepts for greater impact and action.
Have you ever found that your ideas or complex sustainability topics you're really passionate about don't resonate or drive action as much as you would like?
Perhaps drawing is something you can use in your toolkit for more effective communication.
We need sustainability and circular economy ideas to be more normalised and explained in a way that translates into action.
This is where illustration comes in. Visuals can stick in long-term memory, they can transmit messages faster and also trigger emotions and actions.
So, this workshop is for anyone who wants to develop their skills in drawing and visual thinking to more effectively communicate and simplify sustainability concepts for greater impact and action.
You'll walk away with a deeper understanding of drawing principles, formats, shapes and a template to create a clear brief, a proven illustration design process and a finished illustration of your very own (of a sustainability topic/concept of your choice).
With plenty of fun drawing activities, this workshop will show you the untapped creative potential you have in drawing.
